WINNER: Bobby Lashley won the WWE United States Title

(Amin’s Analysis: A solid match with lots of good sequences and action leading to the finish. Crews is a talented wrestler. Lashley has shown great intensity since joining MVP and has really clicked. This was right move and finish to put the US Title on Lashley.)

(Amin’s Analysis: Another solid match with lots of good action. Sheamus is a solid wrestler and shows great intensity in his matches. Another good win for Big E who showed great intensity and post-match hyping himself up in-front of Corey Graves was well done. Nice to see Big E show passion preaching to what he’s been saying on Taking Smack.)

Alyse Ashton, WWE newest backstage interviewer interviewed Matt Riddle backstage. Riddle said King Corbin is afraid he’s going to take his crown. Jax celebrated with the title and hugged Baszler but then backed off. Baszler was about to speak but Jax celebrated more. Baszler told Jax let’s go celebrate.

(Amin’s Analysis: This was a really fun match which featured some great near falls and sequences leading to a terrific finish. I’m not Nia Jax biggest fan but she works hard in this match and her pairing with Baszler will be fun to watch. Baszler is such a joy to watch bringing in her MMA background and using her submission style is just awesome. Bayley and Banks are terrific as they did an awesome job bringing importance to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. This was the right finish as it should begin the breakup between Banks and Bayley.)

WINNER: Keith Lee

(Amin’s Analysis: Wow! This was unexpected but a pleasant surprise as after a shaky start on Raw, they immediately established Keith Lee as a top star with his win over Randy Orton. Lee’s a tremendous wrestler and was terrific on NXT. The question was how will he presented on Raw? Well things are off to a good start. Orton deserves tons of credit as been doing some of his best work and put over Lee as a top star on Raw. Thumbs up all around.)

WINNERS: Rey & Dominque Mysterio

(Amin’s Analysis: A great tag team match from start to finishwhichfeatured lots of great action. This is only Dominque’s third match in WWE, he’s not totally polished but doesn’t give you a feel that he doesn’t belong in the ring. He will improve and get better with more matches. Rey is just terrific as I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Dominque win the WWE Tag Team Titles. Rollins has been awesome since turning to his Messiah character as he’s been putting in his best work. The post-match was interesting as they seem to tease dissension between him and Murphy.)

The new WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin were shown leaving the arena.

Triple Threat No Holds Barred Match for the WWE Universal Championship – ‘The Fiend’ vs. Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman

WINNER: Roman Reigns won the WWE Universal Title

Reigns walked up the entrance ramp as Paul Heyman raised his hand. Reigns posed with the Universal Title as the show came to a close.

(Amin’s Analysis: The match itself was fine as both The Fiend and Strowman did the heavy lifting as they work well together. The story was great and the finish worked to establish Reigns as the top heel on SmackDown. This will now bring more interest to SmackDown and to the WWE Universal Title picture. Now as a heel and with Heyman by his side, Reigns will have a chance to showoff his talent and charisma which he showed but fans didn’t get fully behind when he presented as a babyface.)

OVERALL THOUGHTSA very enjoyable WWE PPV as the wrestling on the show was great from start to finish. Apart from the great wrestling, the show worked as they established Roman Reigns as a heel on SmackDown with his Universal Title win. They also established Keith Lee as a top star on Raw with his win over Randy Orton. Overall, WWE Payback a thumbs up show.
