SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) w/Big E def. The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus) to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/4

Woods delivered a flying elbow drop to Cesaro. Kofi delivered a springboard splash to Cesaro. Woods delivered an assisted splash as Kofi followed up with a springboard Vader Bomb to Cesaro for a near fall. Kofi went for a flip dive but The Bar caught him. Woods went for a splash from the ring apron but Sheamus caught him and rammed him into the ring post. Cesaro then rammed Kofi into the ring post. Sheamus delivered a clothesline and Cesaro delivered an uppercut to Kofi for a couple of near falls. Cesaro delivered a running European uppercut to Kofi and The Bar followed up with a double team backbreaker for a near fall. Kofi backdropped Cesaro to the floor. Woods tagged in and delivered a sliding flatliner to Sheamus for a near fall. Sheamus countered a DDT and delivered a backbreaker for a near fall. Sheamus tossed Woods into Cesaro who delivered an uppercut for a near fall. Cesaro delivered a Giant Swing (which got a big reaction) and then transitioned into a sharpshooter but Kofi returned to break the hold. Kofi delivered a Trouble in Paradise to Sheamus on the floor. Finish of the match came when Woods delivered a backcracker as Kofi followed up with a flying double stomp to Cesaro for the win. 

(Amin’s Analysis: This was a good tag team match as both The Bar and New Day worked hard and are really fun to watch.)

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Charlotte Flair def. Becky Lynch via Disqualification 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Becky got a huge reaction during the ring introductions. Becky yanked Charlotte to the floor and then rammed her into the ring post. Becky applied a head scissors and then transitioned into a Fujiwara Armbar. Charlotte broke free by delivering a back suplex. Charlotte delivered a knee drop to Becky. Charlotte delivered an Exploder suplex. Becky delivered a flying forearm for a near fall. Charlotte delivered a running boot for a near fall. Becky and Charlotte had a nice back-and-forth strike exchange. Becky delivered a head butt but Charlotte responded by delivering a spear for a near fall. Charlotte went for a reverse moonsault but Becky got her knees up. Becky went for a flying leg drop but missed. Charlotte applied a Boston Crab but Becky grabbed the ropes to break the hold. Becky grabbed her championship from the timekeeper’s area. Charlotte rammed Becky into the barricade. Charlotte delivered a spear and then transitioned into a Figure-8-Leg Lock. Becky swung her championship at Charlotte as the referee called for the DQ. 

  • Post-Match: Charlotte chased Becky up the ramp. Charlotte went for a spear on the floor but Becky delivered a clothesline. Becky delivered an Exploder Suplex on the floor and followed up with a running knee into the barricade. 

(Amin’s Analysis: This was a good match as both Becky and Charlotte worked really hard. The finish was lame but sets up a rematch on SmackDown LIVE which was announced.)

John Cena & Bobby Lashley def. Elias & Kevin Owens 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Lashley delivered a power slam to Elias for a near fall. Lashley delivered a flatliner to Owens. Elias delivered a standing elbow drop to Lashley for a near fall. Owens delivered a DDT for a near fall. Elias rammed Lashley into the ring post as Owens followed up by delivering a frog splash for a near fall. Lashley caught Owens coming off the ropes and delivered a spine buster. Cena tagged in, delivered shoulder tackles, a Blue Thunder Bomb and a Five Knuckle Shuffle to Elias. Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment and followed up with the Sixth Move of Doom (A running punch) to Elias for the win. 

(Amin’s Analysis: The first 3/4 of the match was long and dull. But I will say was great to see John Cena back inside a WWE ring as he was the star of this match.)

Peyton Royce & Billie Kay def. Naomi & Asuka

  • Rating: ⭐️ 3/4

Asuka and Naomi delivered a double dropkick and followed up with a double running hip attack to Kay and Royce. Kay delivered a running boot to Asuka for a near fall. Asuka delivered a German suplex to Kay. Naomi tagged in, delivered a disaster kick and followed up with split legged moonsault but Kay broke the count. Asuka delivered a flying dropkick to Kay. Naomi delivered a plancha to Royce. Kay rammed Asuka into the barricade. Finish of the match came when Kay held Naomi in a wheelbarrow position as Royce delivered a running knee for the win. 

(Amin’s Analysis: A basic average match to get Kay and Royce a win in their hometown.)

WWE Championship Match: A.J. Styles def. Samoa Joe via Submission to retain the WWE Championship 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Joe and Styles exchanged strikes on the floor.  Joe delivered chops, jabs and a running boot to Styles. Joe delivered a tope to Styles who went into the barricade. Joe delivered a running back elbow and followed up with a step-up ensuigiri for a near fall. Styles made a comeback by delivering the Phenomenal Blitz and followed up with a sliding forearm. Styles delivered a reverse DDT for a near fall. Joe delivered a running clothesline for a near fall. Joe delivered a powerslam for a near fall. Joe caught Styles coming of the turnbuckle and delivered an Emerald Flosion for a near fall. Styles delivered a dropkick as the chair went into Joe. Styles attacked Joe with a chair. Styles charged but Joe caught him and delivered a uranage on a chair for a near fall. Styles delivered an electric chair as both AJ and Joe went crashing through the table. Styles delivered strikes to the knee of Joe. Styles went for the Calf Crusher but Joe countered by applying a Calf Crusher. Styles rolled under the ropes to break the hold. Styles delivered a Pele Kick from the floor and followed up with a Springboard 450 to the knee of Joe. Styles leaped over the barricade and delivered a Phenomenal Forearm to Joe. Styles went for the Phenomenal Forearm but Joe countered by applying the Coquina Clutch and then transitioned by delivering an overhead suplex for a near fall. Joe applied the Coquina Clutch again but Styles broke free. Finish of the match came when Styles applied a Calf Crusher as Joe tapped out. 

(Amin’s Analysis: A great match as both Joe and Styles worked really hard and told a great story. Joe was great playing the heel. Styles is great at playing the fighting champion.)

RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey & The Bella Twins def. The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan & Ruby Riott) via Submission 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️ 2/4

Nikki delivered a spine buster to Ruby for a near fall. Ruby delivered a flatliner to Brie for a near fall. Liv delivered a Shining Wizard to Brie for a near fall. Brie pulled Liv by the tongue and then delivered a running knee against the ropes. Sarah delivered a running knee to Nikki for a near fall. Nikki delivered a middle rope disaster kick to Sarah. Rousey tagged in, delivered judo throws to Liv and Sarah. Rousey delivered a rolling senton to Ruby. Rousey delivered a spinning uranage to Sarah. Finish of the match came when Rousey applied a double arm bar to Liv and Sarah as they both tapped out. 

(Amin’s Analysis: A decent match that you see every week on WWE TV. Rousey was the star of the match as she has great facial reaction and her ring movement is very good.)

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Buddy Murphy def. Cedric Alexander to win the WWE Cruiserweight Title 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/4

Buddy came out to a massive reaction. Buddy delivered a jumping knee for a near fall. Buddy delivered a nice looking flip dive to Alexander on the floor and followed up with a flying double knees for a near fall.  Alexander delivered a superkick. The fans chanted “Let’s go Buddy” as Alexander delivered a Super Michinoku Driver from the top turnbuckle for a good near fall. Alexander delivered a flatliner and followed up with a nice looking flip dive to Buddy on the floor. Alexander delivered a handspring kick to Buddy for a near fall. Buddy made a comeback by delivering a cheeky Nandos kick and followed up with a running sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Alexander delivered a standing Spanish Fly for a near fall. Alexander followed up by delivering the Lumbar Check but Buddy kicked out for an awesome near fall. The crowd chanted “Buddy.” Alexander went for a springboard but Buddy caught him with a knee. Buddy then delivered Murphy’s Law to Alexander for the win. The finish got a massive reaction. 

(Amin’s Analysis: This was a great match as both Alexander and Buddy are great wrestlers and worked really hard. There were some nice creative spots and the finishing sequence was very well done.)

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins) def. Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre & Braun Strowman

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2/4

The match started with a huge brawl. Ziggler delivered a jumping DDT to Rollins for a near fall. McIntyre delivered a suplex for a near fall. Rollins delivered a back suplex to Ziggler and a sling blade to McIntyre. Rollins delivered a buckle Bomb to Ziggler and a head scissors to McIntyre. Strowman climbed the turnbuckle, attempted a splash but Rollins moved. Ambrose tagged in, delivered clotheslines and a fallaway slam Ziggler.  Ambrose delivered a flying clothesline but Ziggler rolled through for a near fall. Reigns tagged in, delivered a running boot and followed up with clothesline to McIntyre in the corner. Reigns delivered a Drive By to McIntyre and then followed up with a DDT for a near fall. McIntyre moved a Reigns delivered a Superman Punch to Ambrose. Reigns delivered a sit-out power bomb to McIntyre for a near fall. Rollins delivered a springboard clothesline to Ziggler. Reigns delivered a Superman Punch but McIntyre kicked out. The Shield went for a Triple Power Bomb but Strowman delivered a spear which took out everyone. Strowman delivered running shoulder tackles to Reigns and Rollins on the floor. Ziggler delivered a Zig Zag to Ambrose for a near fall. Strowman went for a running shoulder tackle but Reigns delivered a spear which sent Braun through the barricade. Rollins delivered a super kick to McIntyre. Ziggler delivered a super kick to Rollins. Ambrose delivered the Dirty Deeds to Ziggler for the win. 

(Amin’s Analysis: This was a good match between two talented teams as everyone worked hard. There were lots of cool spots and the closing sequence was well done.) 

Daniel Bryan def. The Miz 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️ 2/4

Miz delivered strikes to Bryan in the corner. Miz charged but Bryan caught him with a head kick. Bryan delivered his YES Kicks. Miz delivered Bryan’s running knee for a near fall. Finish of the match came when Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale but Bryan countered by applying a small package for the win. 

(Amin’s Analysis: Bryan and Miz did really well for the time they got. The finish was unexpected and surprising.)

Triple H (w/Shawn Michaels) def. The Undertaker (w/Kane) 

  • Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2/4

Crowd chanted “This is Awesome” as the match began. Undertaker delivered strikes, shoulder tackles and followed up with Old School. HHH delivered a jumping knee. HBK rammed Undertaker into the ring post. HHH rammed Undertaker into the barricade and steel steps. HHH delivered a swinging neck breaker for a near fall. Undertaker backdropped HHH over the barricade to the floor. HHH and Undertaker battled in the crowd. Undertaker attacked HHH with a chair. Undertaker placed HHH on a table. HBK tried to cause a distraction but Undertaker gave him a big boot. HHH went to attack Undertaker with a chair but Kane stopped him. HBK delivered Sweet Chin Music to Kane. HHH delivered a jumping elbow from the ring apron as Kane went crashing through the table. Undertaker delivered a choke slam and followed up with a Tombstone but HHH kicked out. Undertaker attacked the referee. Undertaker attacked HHH with a chair as HBK entered the ring. HHH delivered a spine buster and followed up with a Pedigree but Undertaker kicked out. HHH wrapped a chair around Undertaker, delivered a flying knee but Kane pulled the referee to the floor. HBK handed a sledge hammer to HHH as Kane handed a chair to Undertaker. HHH swung the sledge hammer as the chair bounced off the Undertaker. Undertaker applied Hells Gate. Both men were down as the crowd applauded. Undertaker went to grab the sledge hammer but HBK stopped him. HBK delivered a low blow to Kane. Undertaker delivered a choke slam to HHH, went for a tombstone but HBK delivered Sweet Chin Music. Undertaker went to deliver a tombstone to HBK but HHH attacked Undertaker with the sledge hammer. Finish came when HBK delivered Sweet Chin Music and HHH followed up with a Pedigree for the win.

  • Post-Match: HHH offered his hand and helped Undertaker to his feet. Everyone posed in the ring as pyro went off to a big celebration. But it didn’t end there as  Undertaker and Kane held HHH and HBK’s hand. Kane delivered a jab to HBK as Undertaker delivered a tombstone to HHH. Undertaker then delivered a choke slam to HBK through the announcers table. 

(Amin’s Analysis: This was a good match as both HHH and Undertaker worked really hard to put on a show for the fans. This match was really long and started to drag at points. The post-match angle was nicely done as it likely sets up a tag team match at the next pay-per-view WWE Crown Jewel.)

Overall: WWE Super Show-Down was a pretty enjoyable show and had some good to great professional wrestling matches. Was nice to see HHH and Undertaker wrestler as they are two of my favourite wrestlers and this was great nostalgia for fans of the “WWF Attitude ERA.”
