Undisputed ERA (Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) def. Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate) to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles
- Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2/4
Strong delivered strikes as O’Reilly tagged in. There was a great back-and-forth strike exchange. Bate delivered a leaping senton for a near fall. Seven delivered a back senton off Bate for a near fall. Strong delivered a uranage back breaker as O’Reilly tagged in. O’Reilly and Strong delivered strikes to Seven for a near fall. Seven delivered a DDT to O’Reilly. Bate tagged in as he spun both O’Reilly and Strong at the same time for a big pop. Strong battled out and delivered a running lariat. O’Reilly delivered palm strikes to Bate. O’Reilly delivered a jumping knee strike to Bate for a near fall. The match slowed down as O’Reilly and Strong worked over the knee of Bate. Bate finally throws Strong out of the ring, and starts to crawl to Seven. O’Reilly yanks Seven off the apron to stop the tag, Seven fights him off and tags in Seven. Seven delivered a low tope suicida to Strong. O’Reilly accidentally booted Strong in the corner. Seven delivered a deadlift one-handed running power bomb to O’Reilly. Seven delivered a release suplex and followed up with a spinning suplex for a near fall. O’Reilly made a comeback as he delivered a brain buster for a near fall. Strong delivered an Olympic Slam to Seven for another near fall. Bate returned and delivered a rolling kick to O’Reilly. There was a great spot as Strong applied a Boston Crab on Seven as O’Reilly applied a triangle on Bate at the same time. Bate broke free by deadlifting O’Reilly and ramming him into Strong. Bate delivered a big over-the-top dive to O’Reilly on the floor. Bate delivered a sit-out power bomb but Strong kicked out for a great near fall. Both O’Reilly and Strong rammed Bate’s knee into the ring post. O’Reilly then applied a heel hook as Seven went to the time keepers area and grabbed the white towel. They played off their finish on NXT TV but Seven threw the towel into the crowd for a huge pop. Bate made the hot tag to Seven who delivered the Seven Star Lariat to Strong for another great near fall. Moustache Mountain delivered the Burning Hammer to O’Reilly who kicked out for an AMAZING near fall. Bate went for his loopy-loo clothesline but Strong caught him with a knee strike. O’Reilly delivered a chop block to Seven’s knee. Undisputed ERA followed up by delivering the High & Low combo to Seven for the win.
- Post-Match: The War Raiders appeared as they laid out the Undisputed ERA by delivering the Fallout to O’Reilly.
(Amin’s Analysis: This was an incredible match to open the match. The finishing sequence was just outstanding as both Moustache Mountain and Undisputed ERA worked really hard and show why they are the best tag team in all of WWE.)
The Velveteen Dream def. EC3
- Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The match started with some slow chain wrestling. EC3 crotchet Dream in the turnbuckle and followed up with a strike. EC3 delivered a back chop, a scoop slam, a jumping elbow and followed with a cactus clothesline to the floor. Dream made a comeback by delivering a twisting DDT on the ramp. Dream rammed EC3 into the ring apron. Dream delivered an axe handle smash. Dream delivered a neck breaker for a near fall and then applied a nerve hold. Dream delivered another neck breaker for a near fall. Dream slammed EC3 into the announcers table. EC3 made a comeback by delivering a standing STO. There was a nice back-and-forth strike exchange. EC3 delivered jabs, a big splash into the turnbuckle and followed up with a rolling neck breaker for a near fall. EC3 delivered a face plant for a near fall. EC3 delivered a crossbody but Dream rolled through for a near fall. EC3 delivered a sit-out power bomb for a near fall. They battled on the turnbuckle as EC3 delivered a superplex for a near fall. Dream made a comeback by delivering a superkick and followed with a rolling DVD for a near fall. EC3 was cut above the eye. EC3 delivered a German into a bridge for a near fall. Finish came when Dream delivered rolling DVD on the ring apron and flying forearm elbow for the win.
(Amin’s Analysis: The finish felt flat but this was a good match as both Dream and EC3 worked hard.)
-Matt Riddle was shown in the crowd as he got a huge pop. Riddle has officially signed with NXT
Ricochet def. Adam Cole to win the NXT North American Title
- Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The match started with some very good chain wrestling. They were a nice back-and-forth strike exchange. Cole applied a side headlock. Ricochet delivered a standing dropkick, teased a dive but instead posed for the crowd which got a big pop. Ricochet went for a springboard but Cole dumped him to the floor. Cole then rammed Ricochet into the barricade. Cole delivered ground-and-pound strikes to Ricochet. Cole delivered a neck breaker for a near fall. Cole delivered an ushigorishi for another near fall. Cole then applied a chin lock. Ricochet made a comeback by delivering a standing dropkick and followed with a fosbury flop to Cole on the floor. Ricochet delivered a back elbow, a 619 and followed up with a springboard back elbow but Cole kicked out. There was an awesome spot as Ricochet went for a springboard moonsault but Cole rolled under as Ricochet delivered a standing Shooting Star Press. Ricochet then delivered a better looking springboard corkscrew moonsault but Cole kicked out for a great near fall. Ricochet went for a handspring but Cole caught him with a back stabber for a close near fall. There was another awesome spot when Ricochet went for a quebrada but Cole caught him with a superkick and followed up with an ushigorishi for a great near fall. Cole went for the Shining Wizard but Ricochet counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. There was another awesome spot as both Cole and Ricochet had great back-and-forth strike exchange. The crowd was going nuts at this point and chanting “Mama Mia” for Mauro Ranallo. Ricochet delivered a reverse rana, went for the 630 splash but Cole rolled away. Cole then started to laugh on the ring apron. There was just an insane spot as Ricochet ran at full speed, jumped over the ropes and delivered a snap hurricanrana to Cole on the floor. Ricochet then delivered an awesome looking 630 splash for the win.
(Amin’s Analysis: This was an outstanding match and the finishing sequence was just mind blowing. Ricochet was the star of this match and is just an incredible wrestler and performer. Cole worked really hard and his pairing with Ricochet is just so fun as they play so well off each other. Nice to see Ricochet win as it elevates his status in NXT.)
Kairi Sane def. Shayna Baszler to win the NXT Women’s Title
- Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/4
Ronda Rousey, Jassamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir are sown in the front row supporting Baszler. The match stared off with some chain wrestling. Same applied a stretch muffler but Baszler escaped. There was a nice back-and-forth strike exchange. Sane delivered a flying Kabuki Elbow to Baszler from the ring apron to the floor. Baszler slowed down the pace as she worked over the knee of Sane. Baszler delivered ground and pound strikes to Sane. Baszler delivered strikes to Sane in the corner. Sane was pissed as she screamed at Baszler and asked for more. There was a nice back-and-forth strike exchange. Sane delivered a spinning back fist and followed up with back-to-back running neck breakers. Sane delivered chops and followed up with a Sliding D for a near fall. Baszler delivered a standing ensuigiri and followed up with a super gut wrench suplex from the top rope. There was another nice back-and-forth strike exchange. Baszler delivered a jumping knee lift for a near fall. Sane made a comeback by catching Baszler with an Interceptor. Sane followed up by delivering a middle rope Insane Diving Elbow Drop. Sane went for another Insane Elbow but Baszler rolled to the floor. Sane delivered beautiful looking flying crossbody to Baszler on the floor. Sane delivered another picture perfect Insane Diving Elbow Drop but Baszler kicked out for a good near fall. Sane was pissed as she applied the Anchor but Baszler slipped away. Baszler then applied the Kirifuda Clutch but Sane refused to quit as she grabbed the bottom rope. The crowd cheered and loudly chanted “Kairi” at this point. Baszler applied a heel hook but Sane countered. Sane went for the Anchor but it wasn’t fully applied as Baszler grabbed the ropes. Sane then applied the Anchor in-between the ropes. Sane then delivered a reverse Alabama Slam and then screamed. Sane went for the Insane Diving Elbow but Baszler got her knees up. Baszler then applied the Kirifuda Clutch. What happens next? Well, the Pirate Princess countered by rolling Baszler up and got the win.
- Post Match: Sane held the NXT Women’s Title as joys of tears streamed down her beautiful face. Sane fell to the mat to sell how overjoyed she was by the moment. Mauro Ranallo’s explaining Kairi Sane’s passion after winning the NXT Women’s Championship was just amazing and something you must listen to again.
(Amin’s Analysis: I really enjoyed the finish as it protected Baszler who was great with her heel antics. I really loved this match as Sane was just amazing to watch and felt like Baszler’s equal. Sane is such an amazing babyface as she so adorable and has this special quality to get fans emotionally attached to her matches. I felt so happy for Sane after she won because she worked so hard and deserves this moment. I adore and love Kairi Sane so much.)
Last Man Standing Match: Tommaso Ciampa def. Johnny Gargano to retain the NXT Title
- Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/4
Gargano attacked Ciampa during the ring introductions. Ciampa rammed Gargano into the steel steps. Gargano delivered strikes and then rammed Ciampa into the barricade. Ciampa raked the face of Gargano. Gargano delivered a running cannonball from the ring apron to the floor. Gargano threw Ciampa over the announcers table. Ciampa delivered a White Noice to Gargano through an announcers table. Ciampa grabbed a chair from underneath the ring. Ciampa delivered a running knee strike to Gargano in the corner. Gargano threw a chair at Ciampa’s knee and then whacked him with it. Ciampa applied a sleeper hold and placed his feet on the rope for some added leverage. Gargano countered another sleeper attempt by long darting Ciampa into a chair into the corner. Gargano grabbed tables and stacked them onto each other. Ciampa delivered a triple German suplex to Gargano and followed up with a running knee strike. Ciampa delivered chair shots to Gargano and followed up with a triple Project Ciampa. Ciampa sat down on a chair as Gargano was down. Gargano made it up and delivered a super kick to Ciampa. There was a nice back-and-forth strike exchange. Gargano delivered a tope. Gargano with a super kick and a rolling clothesline. Gargano with a super kick but missed a running cannonball from the ring apron. There was a crazy spot as Ciampa delivered the Angel Wings to Gargano on the steel steps. Ciampa grabbed bull cutters, he then cut the ropes and then exposed the ring padding. Gargano sprayed a fire extinguisher as Ciampa was blinded. Gargano whacked Ciampa with a crutch. They battled on the ring apron. There was another crazy spot as Gargano delivered a springboard DDT on the exposed mat. Ciampa was up at 9. Gargano delivered back-to-back tope. Gargano accidentally super kicked the PA guy. Ciampa dropped Gargano on a monitor and then followed up with a running knee strike as both men went crashing threw the barricade. Johnny made it up a 9. Johnny grabbed some handcuffs. Ciampa and Gargano teased a White Noice from the ring apron. There was a back-and-forth strike exchange as Gargano delivered a super kick as Ciampa went crashing threw the tables. Ciampa got up at 9. Gargano rammed Ciampa against the stage wall and then handcuffed him. Ciampa was pleading as Johnny considered it. Gargano snapped as he delivered a running knee strike as Johnny went crashing threw some equipment crates. The finish was awesome as Ciampa used the handcuffs to get himself up and won the match. The announcers mentioned that Gargano dislocated his knee and that’s why he couldn’t get up.
(Amin’s Analysis: This was just an insane match to watch as the finish was unexpected but was great as Gargano’s rage cost him the NXT Championship. Ciampa and Gargano are just terrific wrestlers as they worked really hard.)
-Overall: NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 was just a terrific show which had some terrific professional wrestling matches. All the NXT superstars deserve a huge round of applause as everyone worked really hard. I also want to give a big shoutout and need to mention that Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuiness and Percy Watson were awesome throughout the whole show. They are my favourite commentary team and they add so much to the matches. This was a fantastic show and I really enjoyed watching NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4. Two huge thumbs up.
